Welcome back to Branch Out. Can you believe it? We've made it to the final episode of this series. Over the last five episodes, we've been on a journey together. We started talking about fruit and how it has its own voice. We've discovered that the gatekeeper isn't always the enemy. We've learned to ask ourselves who really gave access for this to happen. And we learned that sometimes silence isn't seen as weakness, it's a strategy. In our last episode, we discovered that oftentimes before God builds, He tears down. Today, we arrive at the table. But before we get begin, I want to ask you this one question. Have you ever felt like you had to prove yourself? Prove you're qualified, prove that you're gifted, prove that you're worthy, prove that you belong, or prove that you deserve a seat at the table, too. If we're being honest, many of us spent years chasing invitations that God never intended for us to earn. We've exhausted ourselves trying to convince people that we belong, trying to fit in, trying to be seen, trying to be recognized, trying to make people understand who we are. But what if the table that you're fighting for was already prepared? What if the promotion that you're trying really hard to force has already been scheduled by heaven? And what if God never intended for you to fight for your seat? Because the God who called you is also the God who prepares the table. Y'all already know. Throughout this series, I've shared pieces of one of the most difficult seasons of my life this past year. Being confined to a room filled with tension, being misunderstood on gossip that wasn't true, the backbiters, the assumptions, the feeling that no matter how hard I worked, someone had already written a narrative about me. There were moments when I wanted to defend myself, to explain what was actually happening, to prove my heart. There were moments I wanted someone to simply see the work I was faithfully doing. But every time I wanted to fight, God just kept silencing me, kept telling me to remain faithful. Not passive, but faithful. There's a difference. So what do I do? I keep showing up. I kept covering for people, I kept preparing, I kept serving, I kept producing fruit. Even when I felt unseen, even when I felt misunderstood, even when I wondered if anybody even noticed. Right? And then one day something happened. Someone came to observe my classroom. Now, this is a person I've never seen before. No prior conversations, no opportunities from for anyone to shape the narrative, no reports, no influence, no bias. They never talked to me, but they worked on the same team as my co-teacher. And they simply walked into the room and said, Hey, I'm just checking in, seeing the classroom environment. I said, Okay, cool. And within minutes, they saw exactly what I had been producing for months. Think about that. Eight months of misunderstanding. Couldn't survive 20 minutes in the presence of truth. That moment changed everything about the way I even taught myself. Because I did lose faith. Not because somebody finally was there to approve me, but because God showed me something different. I didn't have to fight for that moment to happen. I didn't have to manipulate it. I didn't have to defend myself or even create it. God already set the table. I just had to show up. This brought me back to Psalms 23. God prepares the table before me in the presence of my enemies. David didn't say you prepare a table after my enemies disappear. He didn't say that you prepare a table once everyone finally understands. He never said you prepare a table after everyone apologizes. No, he said God prepares a table in their presence. That means that opposition doesn't stop the provision. Criticism doesn't cancel the calling. The misunderstanding doesn't delay the promise. God doesn't always remove the people watching. Sometimes he leaves them there so they can witness his faithfulness. He takes us all by surprise. And that's powerful because it reminds us that our responsibility isn't to prepare the table. Our responsibility is to prepare ourselves. The Bible tells us to not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble, meaning that God will step into your tomorrow and prepare it for you while you're handling your today. He's omnipresent. Come on now. He's capable of being in your past, in your present, and in your future all at the same time, orchestrating for you, fighting for you, conducting for you, setting things in order for you. So my advice is to allow God to be God, right? God will handle every invitation. God will handle the timing. He will handle the recognition. I think one of the greatest examples of all of this is Joseph. Joseph never, ever campaigned to be nominated front row seat in Pharaoh's palace. He didn't manipulate his way into leadership either. He never forced open doors. Joseph remained faithful. He remained faithful through betrayal. He remained faithful through false accusations. He remained faithful when everybody forgot about him. He served with excellence wherever God placed him, no matter the time or day. And then one day, Pharaoh called for him. Joseph didn't chase Pharaoh. Pharaoh sent for Joseph. He heard of Joseph's Joseph's ability to serve based on his connection with God. Why? Why did Pharaoh send for Joseph? Because God had already set it up while Joseph was doing what he was supposed to be doing, remaining faithful. Can you imagine if Joseph had become this bitter person in prison? Can you imagine if he had stopped interpreting dreams? I mean, the very thing he was gifted to do was the very thing that was harming him in his present. Seemingly that is. Can you imagine if he decided excellence wasn't worth it because no one was watching? I mean, why not sleep with a woman that throws herself at you? Joseph would have missed the very moment God was preparing him for. Faithfulness in private prepared him for influence in public. And I wonder how many of us are praying for Pharaoh's palace while resisting the prison that is preparing us. Here's something that God taught me preparation, it's private. The table. That's public. Everybody wants the table. Very few people want preparation. Everybody wants the platform. Very few people want pruning. Everybody wants to be recognized. But if you point people in a direction of obscurity, they wouldn't dare take that road. But the thing is, preparation determines how you handle the table when it arrives. God spends far more time preparing the person than preparing the platform. Because he develops the person, the platform becomes sustainable. You see, God is an everlasting God. What comes with him should have sustainability to stand. In other words, you yourself should have lasting power because you're connected to an everlasting God. The songwriter says, some through the fire, some through the flood, some through great sorrows, but all through the blood. Everybody has their own journey to take. And you are expected to make it out standing. Look at the three Hebrew boys. Went through the fiery furnace. They came out not looking like what they've been through, not smelling like what they've been through. And when people looked in the furnace, they saw a fourth man standing with them, though there was only three that was thrown in. God's with you in everything. You just have to allow him to be. I was talking with my mother and she called me. She said, Nay. I was like, Yes. She was like, Did you read the book, The Story of Hagar? I was like, many times. She was like, but did you read it? I was like, what do you mean, Mom? She said, Do you realize that the first time Hagar left, it was because of opposition she faced? When Hagar left the first time, it was because she didn't want to deal with the repercussions of a choice that she didn't make, but a position she was forced into. And an angel had to come and talk her into going back. Now the second time Hagar left is because she was sent away. And the revelation out of all of this is that you don't get to pick and choose when you have an out. Hagar met God for the first time when she fled. She built an altar and says he is the God that sees and acknowledged him as El Roy. You don't get to pick and choose when you get when you get to make your exit. When you realize that God is sovereign, that he sits on the throne, you you realize that you are not your own. You have to abide according to his rules, according to his mandate. Right? Maybe you've been fighting for a seat that God never assigned to you. Because a lot of us will deny a seat depending on the place it's in. A lot of us unknowingly puts our preference on things that God didn't ask our opinion about. He just told us to do it. Maybe you've been exhausting yourself trying to convince people to choose you. I know I've been there, especially in this last season. Maybe you've been trying to force opportunities that aren't yours to force. If I could encourage you, I would beg you to stop chasing tables and start pursuing faithfulness. Because the table that God prepares, nobody can remove that. The opportunity God opens, can't no one take that away from you or close it. The favor that God releases, no amount of opposition can stop it. When God says it's your time, it and it is indeed your time, right? He'll say, Arise and shine, for that light has shined upon you. It won't be because you manipulated it. And it won't be because you earned it. It'll be because heaven decided your ending before your beginning started. So let me ask you, what are you striving for? Recognition or fulfillment? What are you forcing? What's yours will always be yours unless you allow it to be taken. Where are you trying to manufacture what only God can provide? Have you become so focused on the invitation that you neglected the season of preparation? Because while you're worrying about the table, God may still be developing the person who will sit at it. Trust his timing, trust his process, trust his preparation. Let's look back at where have we been. We started off at fruit because the fruit is what reveals the root. Then we met up again at gatekeepers, and we discovered that access is often given from within. Then we learned that silence can be a strategy, a powerful one at that. Then God began to tear down false foundations, and now we've landed at the table. Do you see that progression? God never starts at the table. He starts with your heart. He develops your character before your calling becomes visible. He strengthens your roots before your fruit becomes evident. He prepares the person. Then he prepares the table. Everything we've talked about throughout this series points back to one truth. Your identity matters. That's why I wrote my book, The Identity Crisis. Because many of us spend our lives trying to earn what God has already spoken. We're trying to become who people approve of instead of embracing who God has created us to be. Throughout identity crisis, we'll walk through the lives of biblical men and women who had the choice to make between Earth's opinions and heaven's declaration. And if this series has challenged you to think differently about growth, purpose, identity, and God's process, I believe this book will help you continue that journey. Because your greatest transformation begins when your identity aligns with God's truth. And before we close this season, I want to speak this over your life. I declare that every table God has prepared for you will come at the appointed time. I declare that no gatekeeper will be able to stop what God has ordained. I declare that your faithfulness in private will become fruit in public. I declare that your roots will grow deeper than your fears, that your identity will become stronger than other people's opinions, that your peace will become louder than the noise around you. May God continue preparing you for every promise he has spoken. And may you never confuse delay with denial. Because God's timing, it's always intentional. Dear Heavenly Father, we thank you. We thank you for every lesson you have taught us throughout this journey. We thank you for every gatekeeper, every quiet season, every moment of pruning, every opportunity of growth. Father, teach us to trust the process even when we cannot see the outcome. Help us to remain faithful when recognition is delayed. Help us to continue producing fruit when no one is applauding. And Father, remind us that the tables you prepare require faithfulness. And that's all. May we always find our identity inside of you, Lord, and never in the opinions of people. Father, strengthen us to walk boldly into every assignment you have prepared for us. In the matchless name of Jesus, I pray. Amen. Maybe today you're in the fruitful season. Maybe today you're facing gatekeepers. Maybe you're learning to guard your heart. Maybe God is teaching you a strategic silence. Maybe he's tearing down old foundations. Or maybe he's already preparing a table you haven't seen yet. Wherever you are in the process, trust the gardener. Trust the builder. Trust the shepherd. Because every season has a purpose.
